This archive was established to make available to the general public a series of Civil War letters acquired by Cascade Middle School. The letters featured in the Union Soldier Collection as well as the Confederate Soldier Collection were purchased through funding provided by the Jack Eggers Memorial Grant. The Indiana Collection consists of a series of letters borrowed from the Hendricks County Historical Museum. In addition to the museum the Danville Public Library has proven to be an invaluable partner providing resources, equipment and expertise to help make this archive possible.
We are proud to be an official Indiana Bicentennial Legacy Project. We hope that through our project we can help to share the stories of Indiana soldiers that fought in the Civil War.
